Ramathon, the biggest sporting event in Derby’s calendar, is fast approaching. Every year, thousands of runners push themselves to the limit on a 13.1-mile course around the city’s streets. This half marathon has proven hugely popular since its creation in 2018. Thousands of entrants take part every year, while huge crowds gather to show their support as runners make their way past some of the city’s best sights.

This year’s event will take place on June 4 and promises to be bigger and better than ever. A new route will see runners start and finish in Iron Gate, near the city’s Cathedral. Athletes will also pass the iconic Pride Park Stadium, Alvaston Park and Elvaston Castle Country Park along the way.

The event is organised by Run For All, which was set up as the legacy of late athlete Jane Tomlinson CBE, who took on a whole host of endurance events despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer.
